Laundry and kitchen renovations in Helensburgh

We renovate laundries and kitchens in Helensburgh, and we come up for them rather than treating the town as too far north to be worth the drive. One builder holds the job: plumbing and electrical, waterproofing where the room needs it, cabinetry, tiling and fit-off, on a fixed price settled before the strip-out starts.

The drive is the reason to do it that way. Helensburgh sits at the top of the Illawarra with the national park between it and the Sutherland side, so it's a fair run from either direction. Individual trades price that travel into what is often a half-day of actual work, and plenty simply won't come for it. Booking them as one sequence under one contract is what gets a small room finished here instead of left open between visits.

The two halves of town want different jobs. In the older village stock, a lot of laundries are a lean-to on the back or a room under the house that was never properly inside the building envelope, so the work is drainage, ventilation and sometimes bringing the room in, not just new cabinetry. In the newer estates the laundry is usually a cupboard off a hallway, where the gains come from stacking the machines and taking joinery to the ceiling.

Kitchens split the same way. An original kitchen in a village cottage is usually closed off from everything else and the question is whether a wall comes out, which is structural work. A builder's-standard kitchen in a newer home is normally sound and just badly specified, and it can be reworked without touching the layout.
